At Janssen Builder’s, we believe construction shouldn’t feel like chaos. It should feel clear, professional, and handled.
Founded in 1993 by Pete Janssen, our company has been delivering high-quality residential and commercial construction for over three decades. Pete began his career in the Carpenters 46 Union of Northern California, learning the ropes through large commercial projects like Fremont Ford and REI, before shifting into luxury custom homes through an apprenticeship with a master builder in Lake Tahoe. From there, he brought a high level of finish and craftsmanship to everything from 5,000–10,000 sq/ft estates in Morgan Hill and Gilroy to well-known hospitality projects like Fleming’s Steakhouse, The Agenda Lounge, and more.
But we’re not just builders—we’re systems thinkers. That’s why we’ve partnered with industry-leading construction coach Todd DeWalt to evolve how we run our company.
We operate with intention, not improvisation. Every aspect of our process—from estimating and scheduling to selections, subcontractor coordination, and communication—is structured to provide clarity, accountability, and a seamless experience for our clients.
We don’t just talk about integrity—we operationalize it. You’ll know what’s happening, when it’s happening, and who’s responsible. That’s the experience we deliver.
Most of our work today is in the Bay Area’s most discerning neighborhoods—Portola Valley, Atherton, Los Altos, Menlo Park, and Los Gatos. But with plans already in motion to expand to Southern California, we’re committed to bringing that same structure and craftsmanship to new communities—starting with a long-term effort to help revitalize and rebuild homes in the Pacific Palisades.
If you're looking for a construction partner that values transparency, craftsmanship, and zero guesswork—we’d love to talk.
