Janssen Builders ("we," "us," or "our") is a licensed general contracting company operating in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with our internal SMS workforce communications system.

This policy applies specifically to the SMS messaging program operated by Janssen Builders for internal workforce hour-reporting purposes.

SMS MESSAGING PROGRAM

Janssen Builders operates a dedicated SMS number used exclusively for internal workforce communications. This program allows field crew foremen and subcontractors to submit daily work hours and receive automated confirmation of those hours.

This is an internal business tool. No marketing messages, promotional content, or third-party advertising is sent through this system. All recipients are employees or subcontractors of Janssen Builders.

Message frequency: Approximately 1–3 messages per active work day, on work days only.

Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier rates for SMS messaging apply to all messages sent and received through this program.

HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION

We collect the following information when you participate in our SMS workforce program:

  • Your mobile phone number

  • The content of messages you send to our designated workforce number

  • Work hours, job site locations, and task descriptions you provide via SMS

  • Date and time of message transmissions

Participation is limited to current employees and subcontractors of Janssen Builders who have been directly informed of and agreed to this program as part of their work arrangement.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Information collected through this SMS program is used exclusively for:

  • Recording and confirming daily work hours for payroll processing

  • Tracking labor hours by job site for project cost accounting

  • Generating weekly payroll summaries

  • Internal operational reporting

NO SHARING OF MOBILE NUMBERS

Janssen Builders does not sell, share, rent, or transfer your mobile phone number or SMS message content to any third party for marketing or any other external purpose.

Your mobile number and message data are used solely for internal workforce operations as described above. Access is limited to authorized Janssen Builders personnel involved in payroll and project management.

We use third-party service providers (including Twilio for SMS infrastructure and Google for data storage) solely to operate this internal system. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

DATA RETENTION

Work hour records submitted via SMS are retained in our internal payroll system for a minimum of four years to comply with California labor recordkeeping requirements. SMS message logs are retained for up to 90 days.

OPT-OUT INSTRUCTIONS

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages from this program at any time by replying STOP to any message from our workforce number. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent to your number.

SECURITY

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information collected through this program against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Access to workforce data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued participation in the SMS program after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This program is operated exclusively for internal business purposes by Janssen Builders, a licensed general contracting company based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

PROGRAM PURPOSE

The Janssen Builders SMS program is an internal workforce tool used exclusively to:

  • Allow field crew foremen and subcontractors to submit daily work hours via text message

  • Provide automated confirmation that submitted hours have been received and logged

  • Support internal payroll and job site labor cost tracking

This program is not used for marketing, promotions, or communications with the general public. All participants are employees or subcontractors of Janssen Builders.

ELIGIBILITY

Participation in this SMS program is limited to current employees and subcontractors of Janssen Builders who have been directly informed of the program by Janssen Builders management and have agreed to participate as part of their work arrangement.

OPT-IN AND OPT-OUT

Opt-in: Participants are enrolled verbally by Janssen Builders management as part of their onboarding or work arrangement. No unsolicited enrollment occurs.

Opt-out: Participants may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. A single confirmation will be sent and no further messages will follow.

Re-enrollment: Participants may re-enroll by replying START or by contacting Janssen Builders management directly.

MESSAGE FREQUENCY AND RATES

Message frequency is approximately 1–3 messages per active work day, on work days only. Message and data rates may apply. Janssen Builders is not responsible for any charges incurred from your mobile carrier in connection with this program.

ACCEPTABLE USE

Participants agree to use this SMS program solely for its intended purpose of submitting work hours and receiving confirmations. Participants agree not to:

  • Submit false or inaccurate hours or job site information

  • Use the program for any purpose unrelated to Janssen Builders workforce operations

  • Attempt to manipulate or interfere with the automated system

MODIFICATIONS AND DISCONTINUATION

Janssen Builders reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue this SMS program at any time without prior notice. Changes to these Terms of Service will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued participation after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Janssen Builders is not liable for any delays, failures, or errors in SMS message delivery caused by mobile carriers, network outages, or other factors outside our control. Participants are responsible for ensuring their submitted hours are confirmed and for reporting any discrepancies to management promptly.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising from participation in this program shall be resolved under California jurisdiction.
